Our Private Chef!

Private Chef: We offer an exclusive private chef, with unique, local, and freshly prepared meals served family style in the comforts of your vacation home. Pricing starts at $22/pp including two entrees, two sides, and a salad! All the meal prep, cooking, and clean up is taken care of for you! Inquire for more information of menu options or customization of a special menu offerings.

Instructions on how to select menu items:
For a Group of 9 people or less you can select…
1 Entrée (the entire group will need to decide on 1 entrée option as a whole)
2 Side items (the entire group needs to select 2 side items as a whole)
1 salad option ( for the entire group)

For a Group of 10 or more people you can select…
2 Entrees (the entire group will need to decide on 2 entrée options as a whole)
2 Side items (the entire group needs to select 2 side items as a whole)
1 salad option ( for the entire group)

For a group of 10 or more, the Chef will prepare half of one entrée and half of the other. That’s exactly how the meals will be priced as well. Half and half.

For example: A group of 10 people have chosen the Cajun Shrimp Tacos and the London Broil as their entrée options. The chef will prepare 5 meals of the Cajun Shrimp Tacos and 5 meals of the London Broil. The Cajun Shrimp Tacos are $25/pp and the London Broil is $28/pp. So the group will be charge for 5 meals at $25/pp and 5 meals at $28/pp.

If he is available, you will then need to send us your menu selections along with the exact number of guest the chef will be preparing dinner for. Please break those numbers down between children (ages 3-8) and adults so we can charge you accordingly. An invoice will be sent via Square to the email address provided from the reservation or the request form below.

There is no discount for Kids meals as it’s difficult and sometimes not possible to serve a smaller size entree. We recommend ordering 1 meal for every 2 children.

** Please Note: There is a $50 travel fee for our guest who would like to book our Private Chef staying at our Lazy Bear Lodge in Maurertown, VA. **

The Chef does require a $150 minimum.
* The Seafood Boil cannot be combined with any other entrees. It also does not come with any side items, only a salad. *

Cancellation Policy: If you, for any reason, need to cancel your meal, once an invoice has been sent, you will receive a refund, minus a $50 cancellation fee, if you are 7 days or more away from your scheduled meal date. If you cancel with less than 7 days of your scheduled meal date, no refund will be given.

Country Home Catering

Now offering an experience like no other. Book Country Home Catering to experience an authentic local Virginia opportunity. This is a very rare opportunity to experience a normally private lifestyle and to try their delicious and 100% authentic homemade cuisine.

** Please Note, This Meal is prepared and served on the Mennonite’s Farm. You will have to drive to the location. Also, Alcohol IS NOT served or permitted on the premises. **

Country Home Catering is located on the out skirts of Harrisonburg. You and your group would have to drive to the Farm for your meal. Location is provided upon booking. Driving estimates are listed below. From:

Massanutten Resort, it’s a 40 min drive.
River House in Elkton, it’s a 50 min drive.
River Houses in Shenandoah, it’s a 55 min drive
River House in Maurertown, it’s a 1 hr and 10 mins

What are Mennonites? Old order Mennonites is a sector of the Mennonite religion who practice a lifestyle without some elements of modern technology, who dress plain and who have retained the old forms of worship, baptism and communion. A large majority of Mennonites drive horse and buggy’s and do not accept any modern technology including televisions, cell phones, computers, etc.

Beer and Wine Tours!

We are now offering local wine & local craft brew tours available to ALL of our guests, personally customized by the owners to give you the best and most “local” experience. The tour van can hold up to 14 people plus the driver so large groups are welcome! Dates and times can be customized to your vacation schedule to allow you to fit in everything you’re wanting to do during your stay!

Sip & Style

A Private Sip & Style is perfect for any professional team building activity (that’s actually fun), a bachelorette party, birthday party, bridal shower, and more! There is nothing like helping teach others how to weed and prepare their vinyl stencil, transfer it to the wood, and then paint and add the finishing touches. Each person at the class gets to choose the stain for their board, the design they love the most, and any combination of paint colors to make it perfect.

* Please Note: There is a 5 person minimum to book this service. It is subject to availability as well. We will need a minimum of 2 week’s notice in order to connect and coordinate with this vendor if you are interested in booking this service. Limited to 4-5 designs per group. Alcohol is not provided.

Once a date and group number are confirmed, we will need each person’s board size selection so that we can send an invoice over accordingly. Once the invoice is paid, we will get you into contact with Felicia and you will be able to select your designs and stain colors from there.

Sip and Design! You and your group can enjoy a fun opportunity of designing a pallet board sign, custom designed for your group with dates, names, and details specific to your group, while enjoying a glass of wine. The instructor comes to your vacation rental. A beautiful pallet board sign souvenir to enjoy at home!

Private Massage Therapist

Highly rated massage therapist providing the ultimate spa experience in the comfort of your vacation home. Enjoy Trigger Point, Swedish and specialized massages for your aches and pains. Enjoy a specialized menu for every desire and experience.

* Please have a guest count ready so that we can confirm with the Massage Therapist as soon as you inquire! She can’t confirm until she has a headcount and knows the length of each massage. *

Private Nail Technician

Our licensed Nail Technician offers manicures and pedicures to our guest in the comfort of our vacation homes!

** Please Note: There is a $50 travel fee for our guest who would like to book our Nail Technicians who are staying at our Lazy Bear Lodge in Maurertown, VA.

Private Yoga Instructor Class

Enjoy a 1 hour yoga class to start your day off right with our Private Yoga Instructor, Ren! Ren will come directly to your vacation home and guide you through her 1 hour class. Classes can be customized based upon your preference/needs as well.

All Classes are 1 hour long!
Pricing is as follows:
Group of 5 people or less- $80
Group of 6 people or more- $130

About the Instructor: Ren has been practicing yoga since 2011 and became a registered yoga teacher in 2019. She believes yoga should be served in a non-judgmental, resiliency-building, and heart-centered environment. Her classes often incorporate thoughtful sequencing with breathwork and meditation to help facilitate a connection to the physical and spiritual self.

Grocery Delivery Info

Make your vacation stress-free and relaxing by letting us do your grocery shopping and delivery. Groceries can be ordered ahead of time and then delivered and organized for you on the day of your arrival. No need to rush to get to the grocery store prior to arrival. Arrive to the home and have all your groceries waiting on you. One more way to make your vacation more enjoyable. Grocery orders are placed Walmart.com

Daily House Keeping:

We also offer daily housekeeping services. The friendly housekeepers will provide fresh towels, hand towels, washcloths, make all beds, remove trash, sweep main level floor and wipe down counters, and freshen bathrooms. $50/day for housekeeping services, $140 for three days of housekeeping, weekly housekeeping special rate of $250.

River Access:

Enjoy a float or paddle down the gorgeous Shenandoah River at your leisure.
Public River Access is located in Elkton, Va and is only about a 15 min drive from the resort. We provide, kayaks, inner tubes, and life jackets free of charge that are located at your vacation home (Massanutten Resort Homes Only). Additional information can be found in your “Guidebook” that will be sent 7 days prior to your arrival.
